Advice Needed, Period not behaving

Ok, so I have done the hormone treatment I was supposed to do and my period just came last night.  I was supposed to be very light (maybe only mild spotting) and instead is just as heavy as always.  Admittedly I have had to take a few Advils (I was under instruction to not take ANY blood thinning medication) but I just couldn't take the pain.  I have bad endometriosis and my periods are practically disabling for a few days (took most of the day to get comfortable enough to sit and write this).  I do have Tylenol 3's so I can avoid the Advil so I may have to try those, but I'm concerned about the bleeding.

I know a lot of you have had ablations or other treatments for your periods...when you were really anemic do you think you could have handled a heavy period? There isn't really anything I can do right now...so I'm just curious if there is anything I should be watching for.  My levels are up from what they are but I'm still quite low, and I'm passing clots and lots of blood

Any suggestions would be appreciated...even if just a recommendation for when I might have to go to a doctor? I really don't want to go into the hospital just because I'm bleeding because they'll just take more blood to make sure I'm not way back in the 70's and tell me to follow up with my ob-gyn.

Thanks!

GG--I'm sorry that you are still having such a difficult time.  Most likely your going to be okay, according to your last labs.  If I were you I'd be calling the OBGYN and telling that doctor that you are having heavy periods with the meds.  Sometimes, they can change the meds and have a better experience.  Your doctor need to know what's going on.

I was anemic and still had heavy periods for about 6 months after I was DX'ed.  The symptoms were really bad at these times.  I would also double my iron intake on these days through supplements and foods.  Things will get better for you.  Keep us posted.
