Rack is Body Solid and not a Powerline, just an older unit. The bench looks like a newer Body Solid but I don't recall BS to have an adjustment system with the horseshoe.

TOP

The bench is also a body-solid powerline rack.

Thanks guys.

Very sure!!! Body Solid rack used to be 2x2 and white.

Judging from the lettering it might be a powerline. But back when they used to be white they were both 2x2 posts. I think the BS was 11ga and the powerline 14ga.

Here's the exact one that I used to have but there's also another one year that had Body Solid in script-type lettering.

Not my photo:

Man, the design is identical to the powerline. I suppose if it aint broke..

I never saw the Bodysolid rack Essex, but I can attest to at least parts of what Hardkore is saying.

I got a Bodysolid Smith machine in 1998:

At that time, powerline existed because I also got a db rack by them.  But, obviously, the bodysolid stuff was white and the powerline stuff was black.  I have no idea if powerline was owned by bs at that time.

At work, as I've stated before, we have a Powerline rack that of course is like the one everyone has seen and you've posted a link too. It's about 9 years old or so and it is white, so I assume that somewhere between the time I bought my smith and when we got that rack at work (1999 or 2000) powerline became BS's cheaper line.

I don't have a problem with that pline rack at all, but there is a difference in construction between the two.  That smith I had was a very well built piece of equipment for what it was and absolutely had thicker gauge steel used for its components.

Still can't help distinguish whether or not that particular rack Buff's asking about is a Pline or the older BS unit.  I've seen several pics of the older BS units and they are almost identical.  I'm guessing that in person, even without badges, one could tell the difference if the two pieces I compared above are any example.

I throw my vote in here for Powerline as opposed to Body-Solid, mostly because I can just read the logo in the picture.  It isn't script and there is no red therefore it isn't Body-Solid.  It does look like block lettering and I think the last letter is E so it is Powerline.  They were White a couple of years ago too.

i saw a power rack just like that in craigslist and the guy said it was a powerline.
