Marijuana is legal in the USA for treatment to Glaucoma.
Look it up.
It's legal for much much more than that
From you site.
"Human marijuana research is limited, and the retrospective nature of these studies compromise their interpretation. Nevertheless, marijuana usage disrupts short-term memory, working memory, and attentional skills (Fletcher et al., 1996), and induces deficits in mathematical skills, verbal expression, and memory retrieval (Block and Ghoneim, 1993). Long-lasting cannabis-dependent short-term memory deficits (Schwartz et al., 1989) and residual neuropsychological effects (Pope and Yurgelun-Todd, 1996) persist even after abstinence. "
I Agree with you that it is defined as a Neurotoxin.
In saying that, your attitude towards the drug seems to be very extreme. It is a damaging drug. Smoking it everyday can led to serious long term problems.
But having a puff now and again is not going to make you a crack addict. To the person who started this thread, smoking every day is bad, drugs are bad, mmmmk?
From personal experience, I was addicted to it for 8 years, smoking two to three times a day. When I was really sick from the flu, I would smoke it to open them up and help me breath (I also used to have asthma, I personally think that smoking it to cure Asthma is bizarre), however after the initial effects I would have trouble breathing. My doctor at the time confirmed this at the time.
I have not mentioned how it will effect muscles, I would have to agree, it is a great way to relive sore muscles and fully support the use of it as a medical treatment and occasionally pass time. I just wanted to share my experience with the functions of my broncili closing down more after an initial expansion.
But yes, if the initial effects last one hour then go for it, but when I smoke, the last thing I want to do is go running. Running and exercise are my way separating that aspect of my previous life. By all means keep doing it, I was just pointing out what I know.
MJ is addictive, for one jman.  If you have to ask if it is detrimental to exercising - then you already know the answer! ...ummm YES.
Three, and this is a rebuttal to the post by LEI yun fat, or whomever - but the big 'experiment' of sex before athletics/training, etc., has been proven to HELP with athletic performance... four hours after sex testosterone was higher than before sex according to Sport Science on FSN for a pro boxer... they actually took his blood to find that out.
Honestly, a stupid topic about the MJ thing tho... that's like asking if it is OK to drink alcohol every night and train?  It's not a good thing.
Thanks!!  You realize that for asthmatics, the THC would be in pill form
Please.  I saw that episode of sports science.  It was hardly scientific.  The guy knew beforehand what the experiment was going to be.  And he was a proponent of sex making him perform better.  Biased results are garbage.  The results were inconclusive.  More free test doesn't mean better fight performance.  So my analogy was made to point out that:
1.) both are commonly asked questions
2.) both have not had great deals of scientific research in this context
3.) effects on training are more psychological and subjective
My analogies were not faulty and your rebuttal has failed.  Please enjoy the rest of the thread where we discuss this topic, rather than reading the first two posts and trying to pick us apart.
We weren't even talking about glaucoma. Please read the posts.
If you think smoking while sick, especially with a cold or the flu is a good idea, that;s your own fault I guess  It certainly does not prove that smoking would cause your bronchial tubes to close up after it's worn off, it proves that it caused your probably already irritated throat and respiratory tract to flare up.
But I love running with it. It helps me breathe better, helps me push myself more, and makes me more motivated. The great thing about the substance as it can do just about whatever you want it to. It effects everyone differently.
or vaporized, or in edibles, of course.
Ifound it pretty shocking it was one of the medical uses.
Yeah, but after doing some research, the bronchodilation effects are very short lived. So standard drug treatment is still more effective
Although the side effects of one of my asthma medications (if I took just one dose too many for my system) was "cardiac arrest" and "death" (Advair). All sympathomimetic medications have similar warnings.
I hate reading the side effects ... the list is huge, and then I get to thinking "do I really want to take this sh!t? Is breathing really that important?"

That was a long time ago.
Not trying to pick you apart, or anything like that.  My rebuttal has not failed.
The show stated that there was more testosterone in his blood four hours after he had sex.
That was my point.
